History

Simply by redesigning the front and rear ends (German coachbuilder Karmann did the work), the TR5 suddenly looked more modern as the TR6. The seats were all new and you get a front anti-sway bar, but underneath it's still an antique. The optional hardtop is an excellent one-piece steel affair, no longer a 'Surrey'. 150 horsepower was delivered on fuel-injected European cars (but only 124 horsepower from the end of 1972). Sadly, the US market gor the same gutless twin carb set-up as was delivered in the TR250. Gear ratios were altered in 1971, a lip spoiler and standard overdrive added in 1973. The TR6 had the usual electrical and suspension troubles, and rust, of course. Expect to pay about $13,000 - $22,000 for a TR6 in excellent condition.
