History

The second-generation Camaro is much less collectible than the first generation from 1967-1969, but if you can find a small rear window model from 1970-1974, these have more collector potential than the later 1975-1981 Camaros with a wraparound rear window. There are no convertible Camaros in this generation. With emissions regulations becoming increasingly more stringent throughout this era, most second generation Camaros were nowhere near as powerful as the original series. Even the desirable Z/28 package saw its power drop over the years to an anemic 185 hp. Nearly 250,000 second-generation Z/28s were built over the years, so they're relatively easy to find today. Other special second generation Camaros to find include the early SS models with 396/402 cubic inch big-blocks.
