History

The Chevy Camaro debuted in 1967 and sold 220,000 units in the first year. The Camaro was a classic pony car, with two doors and a selection of mild to wild engines, including 396 and 427 cubic inch big blocks. Structurally, the car was based on the Chevy Nova chassis and mechanical package. Camaros to notice in this era are the 302 cubic inch Z/28 (602 made in 1967), 350 or 396 cubic inch SS (Super Sport) model, and the RS (Rally Sport) trim package. These are now among the most prized of all Camaros, and they tend to be the most valuable. Convertibles with any engine are also desirable.
